Spoiler Alert!

“Listen! I am coming soon! I will bring my reward with me, and I will repay each one of you for what you have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
-Revelation 22:12
Have you ever flipped to the back of the book and read the ending first? Or heard a “spoiler alert” from a friend? If so, then you’ve probably gotten to that point where there is a dramatic scene, but you’re not the least bit concerned because you already know what happens in the end. So, what’s so different about life when we have the Bible?…
God Gave Us the Ending God lays it out word for word for us. Just take a look towards the end of the greatest book ever written. Romans 16:20 says, “The God who brings peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” His Word tells us that WE WIN. The enemy that provokes our fear, worry, doubt, insecurity, and anxiety is going to be DEFEATED. The devil knows that he doesn’t have long left, so he’s trying to do everything he can to take us down with him. Don’t let it work. When you are fearful, remember that in due time, we will be stomping on our enemy. When you feel worried, remember that God’s army comes out on top. When you feel doubt, remember that God’s promise is still true, He is just being patient so everyone has a chance to change their destiny (2 Peter 3:9). When you feel insecure, remember that God has chosen you to help bring others into His kingdom. When you feel anxious, remember that God’s plan is perfect. If you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord and was raised from the dead (Romans 10:9-10), then you can find peace in knowing that your eternity is secured with God Almighty.
Lose the Doubt If we know the ending, why do we still fear as if something else could possibly happen? This fear or worry is actually us doubting God. If we accept God’s Word as Truth, then we know that we have nothing to fear based on Isaiah 41: 10, and we know we have no reason to worry based on Psalm 55:22. We may look at the future and see it as undetermined, but God has already given you a plan and a purpose. Just because you are unsure of the future, doesn’t mean that God is. Just as He has planned the devil’s defeat, He has planned your victory. The battle has already been won, so we can start living in celebration.
It’ll All Be Worth It So many of us are guilty of that “it’s all for nothing” mentality. We wonder why we try to do good when it’s so much easier to live how we want. But the easiest route is almost never the best route. Besides, God never promised us easy lives. Even the most respectable of His followers from the Bible faced persecution and hardships. But, what He did promise us, is the enemy’s defeat and our eternal life in Heaven if we accept Jesus as His one and only son. Living forever, basking in the glory of the Lord is reason enough to continue pushing towards Him, no matter what the enemy throws our way.
Drown the Devil Out The devil is here to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). That’s what he does. So, when we feel robbed of our joy, dead to our sin, or defeated from the chaos and pain, know that that is exactly what the devil is trying to do. You are so much more of a force for the army of God than you realize. And the devil knows that. So, he tries to knock you down and steal your motivation so you won’t do what you were made to do for the kingdom of God. Fortunately, we know that the enemy’s ultimate defeat is coming. Our pain is just a season, so push forward with all you’ve got. And don’t let the devil’s plans for your failure obscure God’s plans for your prosperity.
Be a Spoiler We know what happens, but have we shared it with everyone around us? Some people haven’t heard that God prevails. We are surrounded by opportunities to share the best ending to the best narrative of all time. Working for the Kingdom of God is so fulfilling and can be so much fun. You could be the reason that more people are able to celebrate that victory with us eternally, just by sharing with them the story of the Bible.
Don’t let temporary problems harm your permanent future. God didn’t write a cliffhanger… His side wins. And in that, we can find peace and motivation.
